Climate change and growing global inequalities have a particularly severe impact on rural communities in South Ubangi (DRC) and Midelt (Morocco). Every day, these communities work with determination to break the vicious cycle of poverty and create new opportunities for the future. They strive to establish quality education, accessible healthcare, and equal opportunities to earn a decent income.
In collaboration with community committees, Congodorpen supports sustainable projects that strengthen self-reliance, resilience, and economic development. In this way, opportunities grow from within the community, by and for the community.

In this health zone, malaria is the most common disease, caused by mosquitoes, followed by illnesses caused by contaminated water. Thanks to the health centres and the health insurance scheme, it is easier for people to access healthcare.
Learning to read and write has given me self-confidence. Now I understand figures better, I can help make decisions and defend the interests of the cooperative. I used to just go along with the rest, but now I actively contribute to the organisation and development of our region.
With the income from our high-quality coffee, we invest in our health centres through the cooperative and are able to pay our children’s school fees.
